The BS 7671 is the British standard for wiring regulations for low voltage systems in the UK. Although it is not a statutory document, every electrician or domestic installer will have to, by law demonstrate that they comply with a number of legislative documents. Even if you have completed a level 3 NVQ or a previous version of the wiring regulations, you still will have to prove you are conversant with the current standards. So therefore, keeping up to date with the latest wiring regulations satisfies these requirements.[/vc_column_text][/qode_accordion_tab][qode_accordion_tab title="Course Overview" title_tag="h4"][vc_column_text]Although the BS 7671 can be a hard book to navigate, our course has been designed in such a way as to ensure that you will have the knowledge to identify and find the topics covered in each of the relevant parts of the book. There are two learning options available at Amplo Training. The full 18th Edition course will run over four full days and is classroom based. We also offer a fast track option that runs over two full days (this option is available for those candidates that have completed the 17th Edition BS 7671 2015 third amendment and experienced operatives). Throughout each of the days, you will gain a good understanding of the key regulations in each part and also how to navigate your way around the book for the others.

The BS 7671 is divided into 7 main parts as well as appendices with each one of these parts subdivided into individual chapters. You will be tested on each one of these different sections of the book. The main parts are:
  • Scope, object and fundamental principles
  • Definitions
  • Assessment of general characteristics
  • Protection for safety
  • Selection and erection of equipment
  • Inspection and testing
  • Special installations or locations
  • Appendices

Course Delivery

We have two courses available. We offer the full 2382-18 course which is delivered over 4 full days and we have the 2 day update course. Both are classroom/centre based.   2 Day Course   The 1 day course is best suited for those candidates that are experienced electricians or those that have previously completed the 17th Edition BS 7671 2015 third amendment.   There are 3 delivery options available at Amplo training:   Option 1 – Weekends This will be delivered over 2 full days from 9:30am – 4:30pm (Sat - Sun)   Option 2 – Weekdays This will be delivered over 2 full days from 9:00am – 4pm (Thurs & Fri)   Option 2 – Evenings This will be delivered over two evenings from 6pm – 9pm (Mon & Wed) over 2 consecutive weeks   The exam will take place on the afternoon of the final day of the chosen course and is a computer based, open book multiple choice exam. This exam will last for 2 hours and therefore you will have an average of 2 minutes per question. As part of our sessions, you will work through example exam questions as well as several timed mock tests. This will give you invaluable practice in navigating through the book under test conditions to fully prepare you for the final examination.
