18th Edition BS 7671

The 18th Edition BS 7671 is the British standard for wiring regulations for low voltage systems in the UK. Although it is not a statutory document, every electrician or domestic installer will have to, by law demonstrate that they comply with a number of legislative documents. Even if you have completed a level 3 NVQ or a previous version of the wiring regulations, you still will have to prove you are conversant with the current standards. So therefore, keeping up to date with the latest 18th Edition BS 7671 wiring regulations satisfies these requirements.[/vc_column_text][/qode_accordion_tab][qode_accordion_tab title="Course Overview" title_tag="h4"][vc_column_text]Although the BS 7671 can be a hard book to navigate, our course has been designed in such a way as to ensure that you will have the knowledge to identify and find the topics covered in each of the relevant parts of the book. There are two learning options available at Amplo Training. The full 18th Edition course will run over four full days and is classroom based. We also offer a fast track option that runs over two full days (this option is available for those candidates that have completed the 18th Edition BS 7671 (2018) and experienced operatives). Throughout each of the days, you will gain a good understanding of the key regulations in each part and also how to navigate your way around the book for the others.

The BS 7671 is divided into 7 main parts as well as appendices with each one of these parts subdivided into individual chapters. You will be tested on each one of these different sections of the book. The main parts are:
  • Scope, object and fundamental principles
  • Definitions
  • Assessment of general characteristics
  • Protection for safety
  • Selection and erection of equipment
  • Inspection and testing
  • Special installations or locations
  • Appendices

During the in-centre sessions, we will cover all of the above aspects thoroughly as well as help prepare you for the examinations and assessments for each unit.   To gain the City and Guilds qualification, you will be required to complete a number of assessments which consists of:
  • Multiple choice online examinations
  • Pre-energised and energised Inspection and Testing assessments
  • Fault finding and rectification assessments
  • Electrical design project
  • Written question assignments.
To help you prepare for these assessments, you will be working through the course books and be provided with the necessary work pack, notes, hand-outs, guidance. You will also be set sample test questions, as well as timed mock tests and ample time and opportunities to practise and complete the practical elements.   We feel this approach will help provide you with the opportunity to become confident with both the theoretical and practical elements of the course. This will give you the optimum opportunity to perform at the required level in the assessments.[/vc_column_text][/qode_accordion_tab][qode_accordion_tab title="Course Fee" title_tag="h4"][vc_column_text]City & Guilds 2365-03 Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations
